Charlie's Angels???

This past Saturday I FINALLY got to go shopping. I got new clothes and shoes and a new coat. Oddly enough the first two things I picked up were black...give it up for livin' in Europe! I think the outfit kinda makes me look like one of Charlie's Angels...what do you think?

WAHOO!

*screams at the top of her lungs* I DID IT!!! I GOT A 89% ON MY CHEM TEST!!!
For those of you who don't know...I loathe chemistry...the past 2 test I have taken have not gone so well. PTL this one went so well! Maybe I can do this well (or better) on all of my test, but I'm not going to hold my breath, I've heard it gets harder. Just wanted you all to know the happy news!

observations

Being in America for the past...2 weeks I guessed has made me observe several things that I like and don't like about America that I would never have picked up on before being an MK; so here they are:

1. Very polite cashiers at the store
2. Sliced bread...why does it have to be pre-sliced...what's so hard about cutting bread?
3. Automatic doors on vans...you push the button and it closes all by itself...how lazy is that? how are you supposed to build up those muscles?
4. Convenience foods...doesn't it cost less to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches yourself, than to buy it in a box? isn't all this convenience food making Americans lazy and therefore overweight?
5. Hearing a sermon in english...YES!!!
6. Really cushy padded carpeting...lovely!
7. Being able to eaves drop :) (cuz I can understand a whole conversation)
8. Soda that doesn't go flat in a few days
9. Big closets...yeah!
10. Walmart and Target...love going there! although it is a bit overwhelming walking in those huge stores and seeing all the stuff!

I bet all of you can relate to my observations, being an MK has sure given me a different perspective from which to see things.

Nate's poem

My ingenious brother wrote this poem and I did not ask him if I could post it but I will give him credit:

Bosnia
By Nathan Eisenberg
An old baka smokes a cig and downs a coffee, an old man slaughters a goat, a
young boy curses in English...
this is Bosnia, the country I love.
Car horns blaring, firecrackers exploding, horrible folk music screaming...
this is Bosnia, the country I love.
Bread baking, pig roasting, cigarette smoke clinging to my clothes...
this is Bosnia, the country I love.
Rough cement, fake wood laminate, ancient Zastava...
this is Bosnia, the country I love.
Warm kifla, soggy burek, overcooked cevapi...this is Bosnia, the country I love.
This pretty much sums up my feelings about Bosnia too, rock on Nate!

Welcome!

Welcome to my first ever blog post! *people go wild* Yes I've FINALLY started a blog. Hopefully I'll be able to update this rather frequently but I do have school (I'm a few weeks behind...oops). But as I say you're only in highschool once and you only get to be a teen once! Write more later...
